Chris Terracciano

  Drummer - Instructor - Clinician

After an illustrious career as a performing drummer, Chris Terracciano decided to pursue his dream of opening a full service drum shop in Sandpoint, Idaho.  Chris is a 40-year veteran in the music industry and brings with him a wealth of knowledge of not only the drums themselves but also his unique, friendly approach to teaching drums.

Born in Southern California, Chris grew up in the middle of the “surf” band, music revolution.  He has played with various bands with a wide variety of musical styles. This has enabled him to pass along to his students a first hand style that not only teaches but also keeps his students desire to learn and have fun with music paramount.

Chris has studied drums extensively with renowned teachers, Merv Kennedy, Bart Mann and Ed Brown.  Attended Pasadena City College, completing courses in Percussion Ensemble and Music Theory.  Chris started teaching drums in 1971 in Arcadia California.

Chris now oversees a huge amount of new, used & vintage drums, cymbals; drum hardware and accessories that he sends all over the world to waiting collectors and customers.  This mail order business turned out to be so successful that BackBeat Drums opened its doors as a full-line pro drum shop for the professional drummer as well as non-professional of all ages and skill levels.
